FaceBook Rant On Plume's New World Order

In response to the plea: The top 50 corps in this country who received bailouts from the gov't laid off 535,000 workers last yr while their ceos rec'd an average salary of 12 million. How can any hard working American not be outraged by this. We must fight for the middle class working man.
Plume responds:
Which is why I've decided I'm not paying my credit cards off, or my cell phone bills. (If the bills gets too high, i just jump ship and get a new free phone with a new cont......ract.) I do the same type of thing with car insurance, oh, and banks.

The two ideas are:

1. That stuff stays on your credit for 7 years from the day it goes into "collection" (IF you already used one of your free "banruptcy passes within 10 years) So, when things get too bad, you suffer 7 years. big deal. Time flies. Plus, during that time you can always get married or sweet talk someone into co-signing the stupid car you NEED.
It's well worth the 10's of thousands you may be down.

I know someone right now who is in his 40's with 50k worth of debt and is still doing the "noble" thing and pay that off....when??? he only has 20 years left. Why not take the seven years and start from zero again. Actually, if he wanted too, he could take his immaculate credit that he busts his ass to keep afloat every month and max out all his lines of credit. So, he starts from like 50K, not zero. THAT'S A 100k turn around in 7 years!! Then you start fresh with new credit cards and you roll on towards death.

The only reason this friend doesn't like that idea is not because it is logically flawed, which is isn't at all, butbecause it is "unethical." Which brings us to the second point, following along with your topic of corruption among the coporate bigwigs, shitting down on us.
The same credit card companies (for one) that we struggle to pay on time to maintain our dignity and so they don't skyrocket our APR at the slightest snafu, who act with less honor than a small-time loan shark, are turning around getting bailouts of their own!!! They frown on debt. They keep their own fucking score to decide what you can have in life, and yet, they get to whitewash millions of dollars when they fuck up!! These are the people with whom we must maintain some sort of ethical relationship??

I say f---- em. Life is not as long and epic as you think. This isn't for everyone now. But, if you're just spending your whole life in a hamster wheel, struggling to save for the "future" we always talk about, as if the present, which is the only thing real, is meaningless and you're are actually either losing money each year with emergency expenditures, credit cards and upside down loans, or you're barely squirrling away enough to get washed away with the first medical bill that your scandelous insurance doesn't cover, then stop. Step out of the constant calculator in your head and concentrate.
Play the game. They made the rules. You get like three do-overs. Not to mention, our friends on the left LOVE to give out free help, by the billions. If you can't make something work with all of that, then you weren't meant to have anything anyway. It's OK though, there are charities for people like you.

Remember. This is America. Land of Opportunity. The same opportunity these corporations have, we have. They just have no shame. There's no shame in playing the game!

After further debate he continued:

Ah, you said it : "those of us who pay our bills and try to avoid becoming overloaded with debt suffer......" the bank doesn't suffer because it doesn't do that. It takes the "bailout."
I'm simply suggesting a way to follow them out of the... emergency exit, so to speak, to leave the Titanic with the wealthy folks, rather than drown with the middle class.
It is an argument which faces scrutiny when it comes to morals. "Those of us who....do the RIGHT thing" can look down at those who snuck out with the aristocrats. There the argument will never pass the test.
But when stripped of these "morals", which are put in place by an entity that mocks them, the pure sensibility of it can not be challenged.

Of course, I am simply presenting an alternate view. Furthermore, I definitely do not suggest this as a way of thinking for everyone, nor would I preach this to the masses. Certainly, if everybody followed suit, our economy would crumble (to the point where we can no longer mask it by squeezing the "righteous" middle class)
Still, I feel secure in the fact that this illusionary "valor" that comes with honoring the fine print of a contract you were subconsciously swayed into signing through sophisticated propaganda and advertising schemes, by a crook who who honors nothing himself, is enough to subdue most.
This again leaves no argument outside of theory or idealism, as the FACT is that one person's decision to take the "safety valve" used by the PIC themselves will go unnoticed during their own whitewash.

I'm very sorry, AJ, don't be mad at me. lol But unless I am openly rallying for something, I tend to dismiss the arguments that go, "well, if everyone did what you say you're doing....." because often I agree. I don't think EVERYONE should do anything at once.

granted, me giving out financial advice is sort of like a quadrapalegic ski instructer, but.....

FaceBook Rant On The War Against The American Smoker

I advise everybody to quit smoking, but why this war on smokers all of a sudden?? First we can't smoke anywhere, not even the top row of a baseball stadium! (Go watch some old TV, 30 years ago. They were smoking in the barber's chair, on a plane, in a courtroom, on the floor of congress...

Now we pay a few hundredbucks on a nice dinner for two with a smooth bottle of wine, and we have to huddle outside like fucking lepers just to catch a smoke before coffee. (God forbid we enjoy it WITH our coffee!!) That's because the "pure, angelic" non-smokers, who are probably obese or anti-hygenic, might be offended, or perhaps the wicked second hand smoke is going to cut through the thousands of other lethal chemicals traveling throughout our respitory system every minute and kill their baby. (who incidently is the fucking person who need not be in the establishment. Call me crazy but I'll take a dude lighting up a butt over a screaming kid any day!!)

Not to mention, here in NY it's like 10 bucks a pack. Sure! The states are going to Hell in a hand basket so they ask, "Where are we gonna find some extra revenue? Oh, I got it! Tax the smokers! Fuck them!"

How quickly we've forgotten that back in the 1600's, a handful of religious freaks and greedy maniacs traveled to this new land, with no knowledge of the soil and surviving starvation only thanks to the Indians' need for their weapons.

Still, they were dying of disease, running low on resources, and wearing out their welcome with the natives quickly. They had no reinforcements from the motherland. They were left for dead, actually turning cannibal, but they suvived thanks to a couple of money-hungry snakes who had there own little side plan.

They brought TOBACCO SEEDS, rare shit fom Spain or something! The plants grew beautifully and became the cash crop of our great country!! The first US city, Jamestown, was built on fucking tobacco fields!!!

Tobacco saved this country!!!! It raised this country. Every single man who had a hand in designing it, from the aristocrats who wore wigs and signed shit with fountain pens to the peasants to the slaves....SMOKED TOBACCO!

How quickly we forget!!!!!!

Facebook post about using curse words

After declaring on facebook that I was not going to continue disguising those little four letter gems that society so fears when writing on my wall, I gave the following explaination to a longtime friend:

I'm such a fucking romantic when it comes to the english language. I am the type of person who uses a thesaurus to write an email. So, for me to exclude a handful of words with such extreme value, Queens on a chess board, so to speak, and not utilize them, to me seems pretty fucking ridiculous. Take the word "fuck" for example. It's a noun, verb, adjective, adverb.....OK, I'm going into the George Carlin skit, but you get what I'm saying.
I think this country has a terrible epidemic...FEAR! What did FDR say? We are fucking terrified of everything in this country. We're scared to offend people, scared of going broke, scared of terrorists, scared to go to war, scared of the fucking core temperature of the Earth increasing by 1 degree every Goddamn century. Are you fucking serious??
Oh don't get me started on that shit. Al Gore? This fucking guy wants to be president of the U.S., and the major cause that he champions isn't healthcare, taxes, or national security. This bafoon is worried that in a million years the Earth will disintergrate!Am I the one that's nuts? seriously?
We are a bunch of fucking pussies...even my man Asa was saying..you can't hit the Quarterback in football, you can't touch anyone in basketball, you can't throw at the batter's head, we're afraid of Gays, so we make them the subject of the new Civil Rights Move in baseball, and now, we have little league where no one wins!!! No one wins?? Do you know how fucked up my childhood would have been if I didn't win the World Series that one year? (shout out to Dan McKenna, Grizzaffi and all..Wakefield woodlawn, baby, Game winning hit, you know)
But yeah, if I had gotten that "game-winning" hit at 10 years old after working the count full on Manny,(a true Danny Almonte case, before they could check Birth Certificates, when the shit was just a piece of paper altered with whiteout and a typewriter) the best pitcher in the league, and smacking it opposite field for the win and by the way, pitched the last two scoreless innings, giving me a win as well (a combo that may never before have been done. I'm not sure, because, again there was no fucking internet, these are the days when you went bowling and kept score on a piece of paper with that little two inch, eraser-less pencil. Take a look at the rampant retardation running through your friends here on FB and imagine what the fuck a trip to the bowling alley was like!! while drinking!

But, what I was saying is: if I had gotten that hit, and then after it, as I crossed home plate, they said, "Whew, that woulda been great if you were an adult. Yeah see, at some point you actually start winning and losing! I think I would be pretty fucked up, today!
Some people don't win too often, so when I, I mean "we" do, it's nice to hang your hat on it, you know? It was a fucking reference point for me for a long time. It filled me with hope that it may once again happen. You can't take a win away from somebody, especially a child!! That's sick!! You can't take losses away either. They hold as much value. I just don't know what this fucking world is coming to, Donato.

Chill

The ideas given here are spiritual. We believe in a spiritual existence, while religion, on the other hand, is more so the manipulating of spiritual ideas by humans. Neither is condemned nor endorsed here. Please realize that the use of the word 'God' is to represent the all powerful force of love which moves us and not meant in a religious way, necessarily. We feel as though all religions have their merit and are all, in fact, teaching the exact same set of beliefs.
Also, the masculine pronoun will be used to describe God as it is traditionally. We give no such frivolous opinions and furthermore, to take offense to such a thing means you are in the wrong thought.

What is the meaning of life? It's no wonder that we have a hard time finding the answer to this when you consider that the universe is so giant and always expanding, that you could never reach the end of it in your lifetime, even if you traveled faster than the speed of light, which would, in essence, stop time for yourself. (Think we see things as a reflection of light. What if that light never caught us?) ANYWAY, to answer the question of life is like a worker ant explaining our country's economy, multiplied by trillions. Something like that!

The bottom line is that we don't NEED to know exactly why. We have no problem boarding an airline jet to take us to new places or to visit relatives, without knowing the first thing about aeronautics. However, we may encounter turbulence and be frightened.

A man who is a pilot and has done all of the hard work necessary to study flight will not be disturbed. He will peacefully rest through the event knowing that all will be well, because he understands what is happening. Even he, though, doesn't REALLY know what makes a plane fly. He knows the scientific principles which make it possible, and he knows the tendencies of the plane in certain situations; but, he doesn't know how science works. It always goes back to God.

So, we are not looking for knowledge as much as understanding. At any rate, they are achieved through intense devotion and plain old "hard work," kind of. Prayer and Mediation are our ways to connect to God and learn His ways. The former is emphasized more in western religions, such as Christianity, and the latter is found in the eastern religions, like Buddhism or Hinduism. Both allow us to find answers.

Prayer is simply a re pore with God, who is basically seen as very human-like in the west, even sending a human "Son" to save us and often holding conversations with us. That is what prayer is: a conversation with God.

The problem is that prayer usually turns into something we do when we are in trouble. So, we usually either beg for God's help or plead with him as to why something so horrible has happened to us, implying that it was His fault somehow for causing it or allowing it. This is hardly a healthy conversation. What would you say to a friend who only called when they needed something?

That is not to say that communicating with God in the best way we know how is a bad thing, but perhaps we should treat him the way we would treat a good friend. Actually, since our purpose is to answer our lifelong question, treating God like a friend who has the answers you want would be the way to go.

Treating God like a friend would be to stay in constant contact with Him. Thank Him, compliment Him, and do favors for Him the way he does for you. Do His work by helping others...etc.

Meditation is an excellent way to acquire the understanding necessary to live a worry free life without hesitations or regrets. Unlike a conversation, meditation is where you simply open up to Him. Similar to a radio station, you clear your mind's bandwidth in order to connect with God and receive His radio station. God is always transmitting live.

Many in the west are discouraged with meditation because the eastern followers stress the importance of certain posture and ritual that may be uncomfortable to them. Although, to repeat the ancient traditions in this way is a sign of discipline and reverence which should be important, they are not mandatory to receive "WGOD" radio. Sitting as westerners do in a chair or laying down will be fine.

All that is needed is an initial thought on which to concentrate and perhaps repeat (called a "mantra"). Forget everything else and just think on that topic and allow God's presence. This, again, takes discipline and a desire to do it, but with enough work, it can be a wonderful experience each morning or whenever an idea arises.

Another discouraging fact about meditation is that those truly enlightened souls often have marvelous and detailed experiences. Revelations in the Bible, for instance, is said to be a meditation of John The Baptist. When this does not happen for a person they feel they have failed. But ,to simply ponder on an idea or to be completely silent and let God into your mind is NEVER a failure and will always have a positive effect. You will be surprised, as well, what may happen after a long time of this.

God will let you in on his plan if you ask!
